Notice of Change of Account Terms and Conditions

Our Account Terms and Conditions (“Account Terms”) will be changed from 16 August 2019 onwards. Changes to the Account Terms relates to the enhancement of our existing Electronic Services Clauses, modes of Specimen Signature accepted by the Bank and to introduce fresh terms governing our Biometric Login Service. A summary of the material changes are as follows. Customers are advised to visit our website for details or ask for a copy of the new Account Terms from any of our branches:

Customer’s or its Authorised Signatories’ specimen signature and signing power communicated to the Bank in electronic form shall remain in effect until the Bank receives written revocation of the same from the Customer.

New sub-section for

“Biometric Login Service”

(new Clauses 17A-17O)

This new sub-section governs the Customer’s use of the biometric login service as follows:-

1.New Clause 17A: Customer accepts and agrees to the terms by using the biometric login service.

2.New Clause 17B: The biometric login service consists of the Customer using fingerprint / face identification registered on a Permitted Mobile Device to access the Bank’s mobile banking services.

3.New Clause 17C: The terms are in conjunction with and forming part of the banking agreement but if inconsistent, this sub-section shall prevail.

4.New Clauses 17D-17K: The Customer agrees to the procedure on the use of the biometric login service including:-
(a)installation of mobile app;
(b)activation, registration and security ;
(c)compatibility ;
(d)deemed accessed ;
(e)deactivation ;
(f)re-registration / cease of use ;
(g)the Bank’s access and use ; and
(h)the Customer’s duty and responsibility (use and protection of the device).

5.New Clause 17L: The face / fingerprint identification authentication module of the permitted mobile device is not provided by the Bank, and the Bank is not responsible for the way in which the authentication module works or security of the same.

6.New Clause 17M: The biometric login service may not be accessible at all times and Customer may not be able to use it for all types of services the bank may offer.

7.New Clause 17N: Bank’s disclaimer on liability for any loss that the Customer may incur with the use(including unauthorised transactions) .

8.New Clause 17O: The Customer’s indemnity to the Bank for any improper use of the biometric login service.
