Phishing Alert

Dear Customer,
There has been an increasing number of “phishing attempts” targeting bank accounts recently. Phishing refers to the fraudulent practice of sending emails and links purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
ICBC would like to advise you to stay vigilant and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself against phishing attempts.

Precautionary Measures You Can Take

(a)Perform a full scan of your PC or computing device using your anti-virus software regularly.
(b)Update your anti-virus signature file to the latest release.
(c)Scan your email attachments regularly.
(d)If you have received any suspicious email with a zip file, verify with the sender if he/she has sent the email before opening the email. The Bank will not send you any emails asking for your personal information and log-in details.
(e)Delete the email immediately if the sender cannot be verified.
(f)Do not enter any login credentials if the website looks suspicious.
(g)Do not attempt to perform any further transactions if you experience difficulties accessing your account after you have entered your login credentials.
(h)If you have received any SMS notifications for transactions not made by you, please do inform the Bank immediately.
(i)Always ensure that the ICBC’s website address changes from ‘http://’ to ‘https://’ and a security icon that looks like a lock or key appears when authentication and encryption is expected.
(j)A link may not be what it appears to be. Hover your cursor over the link (but please do not click) as this will show you the actual URL where you will be directed upon clicking it.
(k)Pay close attention to the spelling. It could be a mis-spelled variation of “ICBC” where the alphabets are typed in lower or upper case.
(l)Always type in the URL of the ICBC website directly into the address bar of your browser.
(m)If you receive any suspicious “icbcsg@sg.icbc.com.cn” e-mails requiring you to provide personal information or are presented with an unofficial internet banking login link , please do not click it.  If you have any doubts, please contact us as soon as possible.
