The Singapore Police Force alerted members of the  public of a recent phishing scam variant involving the download of a fake ScamShield App. There are cases where the scammers would contact the victim and introduce themselves as bank staff and then recommend/convince the victim to download the ScamShield App from an illegitimate source.

We,ICBC Singapore Branch would like to remind you that we would neither send  messages with URL or APK through SMS or Email nor recommend customers to download the Scamshield App with a specified URL link. Stay alert and never click on dubious URL.
